Safer Internet Day
Barclays Code Playground
To support Safer Internet Day Barclays Code Playground has produced a special Scratch coding activity. You can deliver this in your classroom or code along on one of our live sessions.
Safer Internet Day 2025 will take place on 11 February 2025. It is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre and the theme this year is ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online‘
"Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. Each year we cover an online issue or theme that speaks about the things young people are seeing and experiencing online. Created in consultation with young people across the UK, this year Safer Internet Day will be focusing on the issue of scams online and for young people, how to protect themselves and others, as well as what support is available to them." UK Safer Internet Centre
To support Safer Internet Day, Barclays Code Playground is running free, live coding sessions on February 11, to find out more and to book your class into a session click here. Below you will find all the resources which you need on the day alongside a video which you can use if you are unable to be part of the live session.
To get things started we have created a starter project, each student should have this loaded at the start of the session to make things run more smoothly.
We look forward to you joining us on Safer Internet Day, and happy coding.
